Internship, M/F : Developing an optical device for medical diagnosis

The project:
Lateral Flow Assays (LFA), popularised with the CODIV self-test or the pregnancy test, allow rapid and simple detection of analytes. We are developing a new type of LFA test using nanodiamonds (ND) doped with NV centres for the detection of very small quantities of antigens used in the diagnosis of diseases (cancers, infectious diseases, etc.).

The candidate will participate in the development of the LFA test reader through the study of different parameters, the improvement and integration of the optical detection system. He/she will interact in particular with the physics and instrumentation department but also with the chemistry and biology departments (functionalization of the ND surface, choice of migration solutions etc.).


The candidate:
We are looking for a Master 1 / Master 2 student in physics with knowledge in optics and laser, detection systems and with programming skills (Python). Knowledge of quantum physics and chemistry is also an asset. Curiosity, rigour, creativity and good interpersonal skills are required, as well as a good English level.


1000 € (gross) per month
