WAINVAM-E offers metrology solutions, using NV center nano-diamonds as markers or sensors, which can be used in ecotoxicological studies.

As a sensor, nano-diamonds can be used to measure and detect magnetic species, variations in magnetic fields, temperatures and pH.

As a marker, nano-diamonds can be functionalised, i.e. coated, with molecules that will identify and reach a particular target with precision. They will then detect, identify and quantify pollutants, such as pesticides, pathogens, heavy metals, toxins, etc.

Optical and quantum properties

Their optical and quantum properties allow them to reach the ultimate detection limit of a single paramagnetic ion.
