Relaxometer NV

The WAINVIEW Relaxometer is a metrology device for measuring the fluorescence of the NV centres of diamonds and thus determining their quantum state. It reliably, sensitively and kinetically measures changes in pressure, temperature, pH and magnetic field in a variety of samples, including oily and aqueous media.

the Relaxometer NV

The WAINVIEW relaxometer is equipped with a variable power green laser source that can be adapted to different applications. A pulsing system required for quantum detection allows the generation of very fast and precise sequences of light pulses to perform a T1 relaxometry protocol. The incident beam is then directed towards the sample containing NV-center diamonds through a microscope objective. The fluorescence signal from the diamonds is then backscattered and picked up by a very sensitive and fast detector to identify the low level of fluorescence in the pulse sequence.
Our WAINVIEW Software transforms the optical data into application-relevant numerical data for easy reading of results

The WAINVIEW Relaxometer stands out from other equipment for the detection of magnetic species because it allows for :

It can detect very small variations of magnetic field

Thanks to optimised signal processing

As NV fluorescent sensors are extremely photostable (and do not exhibit photobleaching)

As only one drop of sample is needed on the usual microscope supports (slides, multi-well plates, Petri dishes, …)

By choosing the specific diamond model for the desired application.

Easy to use, thanks to the software developed specifically for this application

The WAINVIEW Relaxometer can be used to study a variety of samples in both oily and aqueous environment. It is therefore suitable for many detection and evaluation applications, such as :

Detection of magnetic species, such as :
– Heavy metals in an aqueous sample, for eco-toxicological studies
– Free radicals in oils, lubricants and plastics as evidence of their oxidation

Evaluation of the effectiveness of antioxidant molecules that neutralise radical species in an extra-cellular medium for food or pharmaceutical applications.

Detection of small temperature variations in oily or aqueous samples for quality control in industrial processes, particularly in the food and cosmetic industries.

The WAINVIEW relaxometer works with the usual microscopy media (slides, multi-well plates, Petri dishes, …).

Quantum sensors

A quantum sensor is a measuring instrument that exploits the laws of quantum mechanics and provides the measurement of physical quantities directly from values of fundamental constants of quantum physics. Such a sensor is therefore inherently accurate and stable, both being essential properties for many

Oxidative stress

Oxidative stress is involved in many phenomena ranging from a simple burn to serious diseases such as cancer, infectious diseases or neurodegenerative diseases. It is promoted by internal mechanisms such as infections or deficiencies, as well as by external factors such as smoking, sun exposure

Functionalisation of nano-diamonds

The functionalisation of nano-diamonds refers to the modification of their surface that includes binding with chemicals or biomolecules (acids, proteins, etc.) to improve their properties and to bind them to specifically targeted locations with high precision [1,2]. Why is the functionalisation of nano-diamonds necessary? The

Metrology is the science of measurement. It defines the units of measurement, realises them, maintains their integrity, disseminates them and regularly leads to improvements in the international system of units. National metrology bodies serve as reference points for the calibration of measuring instruments used in
